Better Technology. Better Healthcare.
RISE Healthcare Group (RHG) is a dynamic collection of physical therapy practices and outpatient rehabilitation clinics throughout Southern California.
We combine first-in-class clinical care with cutting-edge technology to provide innovative treatment protocols that result in better patient outcomes. Together, with our affiliate partners, we are on a mission to reimagine what patient care can be.
The Hybrid Assistive Limb (“HAL”) is the first exoskeleton powered by the wearer’s intention to move.
How it works:
When a person wants to move, their brain sends a signal along a pathway to the intended muscle(s).
For some people, however, this pathway has been weakened, damaged or broken from disease, injury or dysfunction.
In these patients, the HAL can pick up these weakened nerve signals at the surface of the skin.
Once this “intention to move” is detected, motors inside the HAL are activated, helping the wearer to complete the action.
This creates a positive feedback loop which can strengthen, reinforce and even rebuild neural pathways.
The Hybrid Assistive Limb, in other words, is building change at the neural level….which, in turn, allows the patient to achieve massive gains on the functional level.
Combined with RHG’s unique approach to physical therapy, the HAL can slow the progression of many neuromuscular disorders and increase patient independence, confidence, and quality of life.
RISE Healthcare Group
At the Cutting-Edge of Medicine and Technology
RISE Healthcare Group (RHG) was established in 2021 as a partnership between Japanese technology company Cyberdyne Inc., and a collection of Southern California outpatient Physical Therapy clinics under the common ownership of Dr. Navid Hannanvash. The flagship company within these practices is known as RISE Physical Therapy and is located in the greater San Diego area.
This partnership was born out of a desire to go beyond the conventional treatment options for neuromuscular diseases by combining an established 1-on-1 treatment model of RISE Physical Therapy with Cyberdyne’s Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL) device. The HAL device is a one-of-a-kind blend of technology and rehabilitation used to read a patient’s intent for movement and help facilitate that action via improved neuromuscular connections.
